Lake Pleasant Living B&B

26 ROOMS

Lake Pleasant Living origins date back to the early 1900’s, when the original building was built on the banks of the Groenvlei Lake. After various owners and changes, Mantis finally converted the property into 20 luxury self catering suites. A further 6 two bedroom, free standing villas were added to the accommodation offering. The suites, of which there are 12 one bedroom and 8 two bedrooms, are extremely spacious and tastefully decorated. Walking down the passages and in the common areas is like walking back in time. Dozens of pictures on these walls remind us of what the area was like back then, from sailing ships negotiating the Heads of Knysna, to the ox wagons winding their way up the Kaaimans Pass. The villas offer even more space than the suites with modern contemporary furnishings. They also boast their own plunge pools with a gas barbeque on the patio giving you that home from home feeling. The Health Spa on the Lake offers you the opportunity to indulge in a variety of holistic treatments where only natural products are used. As a guest, you will have access to the sauna, steam room as well as the indoor heated relaxation pool or outdoor rim flow pool. Just the remedy needed to recharge those batteries. Then once energized there is the gym for you to work on your fitness. Feeling peckish, then pop into the Bistro on the Lake where you can enjoy a wholesome meal or just to take in the stunning view overlooking the lake, while sipping on your favourite sundowner. The open spaces and garden are ideal for the children to run around or just to take a peaceful stroll whilst taking in the beautiful surrounds and the sounds of the abundant birdlife. If you are a keen fisherman, then bring your gear as the lake offers some good bass fishing with a few other varieties as well. Being centrally situated along the Garden Route ensures easy access to the many activities it offers, within an hours drive. There is something for everyone from playing golf on the many beautiful courses, trail walking on the Goukamma Nature Reserve, doing a cultural experience to kayaking, paragliding or just taking a relaxing stroll along the pristine beaches. Whatever it is you would like to do, we are sure you will find it on the Garden Route. Whether you choose to self-cater or eat out, lie around the pool or explore the surrounding areas, you know there is always a spacious suite or villa to come back to. We encourage you to put your feet up and relax – after all, you have earned it!!.
